17 Micron – 100% Accoyo – 2.9 SD

We’re very excited about our latest acquisition from elite breeder, Heather’s Acre. Accoyo Hero rounds out our herdsire breeding strategy. He is conformationally correct and carries an extremely dense, high frequency crimp, matchstick bundling and uniformity throughout the fleece from head to toe. If you’re taking home blue ribbons in the 2008 Level 5 white classes and sweeping the special awards in the fleece shows you must be the complete package and Hero is exactly that.

The full Accoyo champion males in Hero’s pedigree include PHA Accoyo Francisco, El Nino, Caligula, Vengador, Accoyo Alexander and Accoyo The Last Don. Just as important are the females – Sunipani, Astillero, Pucara, Accoyo Candy, Accoyo Starburst and his blue ribbon mom, Miss Peruvian Accoyo Morning Star.

The key to this male’s prepotency is the fact that he is the culmination of continuously improved alpacas from the best of the best bloodlines. It takes a focused breeding program and a lot of patience to create a stud of this caliber. You must continually breed the best next generation males to the best next generation females.

Reserve your ’09 breeding today at our prebreeding special rate. Look at his histogram, Accoyo Hero will improve your herd.

We proudly co-own Hero with Blue Spruce Alpacas

Density: 85.5 follicles/sqmm
Secondary/Primary ratio: 15.5/1
Secondary fibers average 16.3 microns
Primary fibers average 22.7 microns
Dr. Evans notes that these numbers offer a ‘strong genetic trait’ that is passed on to offspring. Hero is in the upper 0.5% of all alpacas tested for density.

Name: 6Peruvian Accoyo The Last DonIMPR98 G4568 (Full Accoyo)
Relation: Great Grandsire
About: The Last Don was the first huacaya and first Accoyo macho pick in the last Peruvian importation into the USA. Why? Quite simply, Don Julio Barreda had let very few plantel machos out of his herd throughout the importations, from his now notoriously famous “A” line. The Accoyo “A” line, or as he referred to it – the “alpha line” was bred for fineness, while the “B” line, which he referred to as the “beta line” was bred for density. With an impressive importation fleece statistic of 15.5 micron, Don Julio told the U.S. selection team, THIS MACHO IS ONE OF THE BEST MACHOS TO EVER BE EXPORTED FROM MY “ALPHA LINE.”

With high frequency crimp from top knot to tail, The Last Don has maintained his uniformity of fiber as seen at the time of importation with 0.7% > 30 micron. His crias have been selectively limited by design, all selling consistently very well.

Fiber: 15.5 M, 4.2 SD, 27.6 CV, 0.7% > 30 M
